Prof Segun Aina straddles the spheres of academia and entrepreneurship in a bid to bring pragmatism to the pursuit of ‘academic’ knowledge and to pursue perfection in the service delivery of business endeavours.
He is a consultant and a researcher with a keen interest in technology, education, problem solving and development. He is enthusiastic, dynamic, hardworking and able to work effectively individually or as part of a team. Dr Aina is also able to learn quickly and analytical thinking/problem solving come easily to me.
Prof Aina is result driven and always inspired by new challenges because he thrives on success.
Prof Segun Aina obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Degree in Computer Systems Engineering with Honours from The University of Kent, UK in 2008 and a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Internet Computing and Network Security 2009 at the prestigious Loughborough University, UK.
In 2010 he completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps Service as a Computer Systems Engineer/Analyst with the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB). Also, in 2010, he co-founded Fluid Click Solutions LTD (FCS) an IT Services/Engineering Project Management Company.
He went on to obtain a Doctorate Degree (PhD) in the area of Digital Signal Processing also from Loughborough University. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Computer Science & Engineering Department of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he holds several Departmental and Faculty positions.
Prof Segun Aina consults for a variety of private and public concerns including the Job Creation Unit –Office of the Vice President, several State Governments and Examination Bodies. He has business interests in sectors such as Hospitality, Agriculture, Printing, Capacity Building and Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Prof Aina was recently appointed a member of the pioneer Governing Council of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere, Ekiti. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed Conference/Journal papers.
He is a COREN registered engineer and an active member of several professional bodies including the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
